Nicholas Trandahl Such an insanely emotional album. I can feel the weight of the emotions that Twilight Fauna was feeling with this release. This US black metal album was almost blackened doom in genre. A great album that succeeds in the emotional journey that it sets out to take you on. Favorite track: Acceptance.

about

This is an album born of great pain. 5 tracks, one for each stage in the grieving process. It is best listened to from start to finish as one piece. It is not always pleasant. Thank you for allowing me to spread my grief.

Track Name: Isolation
Sorrow
Scream at a starless sky
Isolation reigns
Silence Deafening

Why

We cleansed the remains
With guilt and shame
The body lies cold
As you cry alone
Track Name: Anger
What do you do when your body no longer works
What do you say when the truth is more than words
Such anger could be a fault but if you survive it might serve
I don’t know what comes after but I will fight for all that I have
In the storm of life unexpected is the price

I have lived for 27 years in this place without regret
Looking back I should have prepared for occasions like this
Keep marching ever forward through this place hold your pace
One day at a time I hold the flame and the light
Such anger could be a fault but if you survive you will serve
Track Name: Bargaining
Give my sorrow, take my soul

In my heart and in my dreams
I feel you floating down
In the water through the reeds
I see you floating down

In the sadness of life
Nothing changes the passage of time- why

I would trade my life force
For just one more moment
Under the pines – a life

Welcome the sadness that overwhelms
Do not numb yourself
The truth must be felt
Embrace your sorrow
Track Name: Depression
The snow falls
Your voice beckons
I yearn for a cold embrace

I spent my time away. If I did come to visit, I would think about other things. I was always so focused on something else. The pain was easier to bear but it left me with a lot of empty memories. There is no real way to get time back. Once it’s gone it’s just lost.

On a cold morning
Tolling bells pierce the sky
Spades cut through the forest
That was your heart
Track Name: Acceptance
You carried the weight of life and death
They marked your grave with tears and regrets
Now I wait under this tree to speak with your ghost
I’ve mourned your loss but it can’t go on anymore

This world is so barren without your voice
But I’m in a better place than I was before
I watched you suffer for so long – too long
And it left me with wounds that I must heal – I must heal

What I mean to say is thanks for everything
Now I walk past your grave with haze in my eyes
And I wonder where you’ve gone and my memories being to fade
Under grey skies I said goodbye so farewell – I’ll miss your song
